City of Koronadal - In Region 12, two displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who worked for Saudi Ogre Ltd based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were assisted by DOLE XII-National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) through its livelihood program.
Abdulbaijan Utuhujan of Polomolok, South Cotabato and Gregorio Soroysoroy of General Santos City were both skilled of the said bankrupt Saudi Company for almost eight years and were forced to come home to the Philippines.
DOLE XII-NRCO facilitated the livelihood assistance for the displaced workers. On January 27, 2017, DOLE XII-NRCO released the livelihood starter kits, particularly a mini grocery, for Mr. Utuhujan and rice retailing project for Mr. Soroysoroy.
Aside from the livelihood assistance, the displaced OFWs were referred to Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Polomolok and DOLE-General Santos City Field Office for possible local employment. (E. Escaño)
