The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed the Memorandum of Agreement on “Enhancing the Reintegration Programme for OFWs” during the Project Launching which was held at the New World Manila Bay Hotel on 18 January 2017.

This is in line with the Migration & Development, and Crisis Management Frameworks in the Philippines. The Project aims to contribute to the outcomes of improving the national reintegration framework and service delivery systems.

Present in the MOA signing were DOLE Undersecretary Dominador R. Say, OWWA Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac, IOM Mission Coordinator & National Programme Officer Ricardo R. Casco, and NRCO Director Chona M. Mantilla. Distinguished guests, partners and stakeholders from the government and non-government sectors, civil society organizations, private sectors, and international organizations participated in the event.

Expected outputs in this two-year project include: Adoption of a National Masterplan for Migrant Reintegration thru the Nat'l Reintegration Summit declaration; Adoption of relevant Department Order, Administrative Circular or Implementing guidelines on reintegration; Reintegration Services DutyBearers Handbook covering products & services of relevant institutions; Reintegration Services Menu for Migrant Returnees & their families; ISO certification of Reintegration Service delivery systems; & Trained Reintegration counsellors & duty bearers.
